Step into the heart of Japanese tradition with this rare, hands-on experience led by master swordsmith Sadanao Mikami. Located in the serene countryside of Kitahiroshima, just one hour from Hiroshima City, Mikami’s forge opens its doors to a limited number of guests seeking a deeper connection with the spirit of the Japanese sword.

This immersive two-hour session begins with an intimate look into Mikami’s time-honored methods of sword forging—techniques passed down through generations and honed over decades of discipline. As the fire roars and the hammer strikes hot tamahagane steel, you’ll not only witness the process—you’ll join it. Under Mikami’s guidance, participants will have the rare opportunity to try their hand at hammering, feeling the weight, rhythm, and soul of the forge.

With the master himself explaining each step (with the help of an English-speaking guide), this is not a demonstration—it’s a cultural journey. You’ll come away with a deeper appreciation of the skill, focus, and spiritual discipline that give life to the Japanese sword.

Optional luxury transportation is available for a seamless and elevated experience.
